North Mississauga Soccer Club offers a range of recreational soccer programs that allow athletes to have fun, stay active and develop social skills. All recreational programs are offered once a week, allowing players to combine soccer with other activities.
Players looking for a more intensive soccer environment are encouraged to explore NMSC Grassroots, Competitive and High Performance programs.
The Back to School Program is designed for players who simply want more soccer. Whether players are looking to improve their Recreational performance, prepare for Competitive soccer, or enjoy additional playing opportunities, this program provides an ideal environment to continue developing within a positive, game-based setting.
Unlike traditional technical clinics, the game is the teacher. Every session is built around realistic game situations where players learn by making decisions, solving problems and experiencing the demands of the match.
Using modern coaching methodology, players develop their understanding of the game through the Four Game Moments, allowing technical, tactical, physical and psychological development to happen naturally within the context of the match.
The objective of the program is to teach players how to play the game through the Four Game Moments.
Rather than isolated technical exercises, players learn within the context of the game, developing their understanding of space, teammates, opponents and decision-making while building confidence and creativity.
Players learn how to create and maintain possession by recognizing passing options, supporting the player on the ball, creating space, and breaking defensive lines through intelligent movement and coordinated team play.
Players develop the habits required to regain possession by working collectively to apply pressure, provide cover and balance, remain compact, and protect dangerous spaces.
Immediately after winning possession, players are encouraged to play forward whenever possible, attack quickly, recognize opportunities before the opposition reorganizes, and maintain the highest tempo possible.
Immediately after losing possession, players react aggressively to recover the ball, delay the opponent’s attack when necessary, recover behind the ball, and work collectively to become compact as quickly as possible.
