Leapfrog

OBJECTIVE:

This exercise is a fun way for your players to do fitness training and helps develop gross motor coordination in younger players.

DESCRIPTION:

Have your players form a line, spaced several yards apart from each other, and with each player squatting low to the ground on his hands and knees. The activity begins when the last person in line places his hands on the back of the person in front of him, hops over him with his legs straddling each side, and continues this way until he reaches the front of the line. He then squats down several yards ahead of the first person. The process continues with the line working its way around the field.

VARIANT:

As a variant, have every other player in the line stand with his legs spread wide. As the players work their way down the line, they alternate hoping over players and crawling between their legs.
